Clean Funny Books Worth Reading (Wholesome and Hilarious Picks)

I’m not a prude. I enjoy edgy humor as much as the next person. But sometimes it’s nice to read something that’s just plain wholesome and funny. The kind of humor you’d feel perfectly comfortable sharing with your grandma. Or reading out loud during a church sermon. Or the kind your Mom would proudly promote to her Facebook friends if you happened one of the clean funny books in this list. (Yes, ominous foreshadowing.)

When I say clean humor, I mostly mean books without swearing, crude jokes, or anything overly violent or explicit. Think of it as a PG rating. Maybe a slightly risqué joke occasionally trickles in. But overall, these are books that rely on clever writing and relatable life experiences to get the laughs.

Below are some of my favorite clean humor books, each earning a strong five-star Wholesomeness Score from me.
